John Haines Named Comic Book Collecting Association Advisor

Ohio comic book dealer John Haines has been named as an advisor to the Comic Book Collecting Association (CBCA).

The non-profit and international CBCA (www.comiccollecting.org) consists of comic book enthusiasts sharing an appreciation for the history, artistic merit and significance of the comic book medium as an important element of popular culture. CBCA's mission is to promote the comic book art form and collecting hobby for people of all ages by encouraging fellowship among comic book enthusiasts. The organization provides information and education to the public, and promotes an environment of trustworthiness and integrity to facilitate buying, selling and trading of comic books and related material.

Other board members include comic book creator, artist and historian Jim Steranko, Steve Eichenbaum, CEO of CGC (comic book grading company), Wayne Smith, VP Warner Bros. Entertainment, and other creators and dealers.

"I can't believe I'm serving on the same board as Steranko," said Haines, a long-tme fan.

Haines is proprieter of Comic and Friends, a comic book store located in the Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, Ohio, and of John Haines Rare Comics. He is also an advisor to the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide.
